Department of Automobile Engineering

Automobile Engineering Department is one of the core department of the institution which started functioning in the year 2013(Establishment year) with intake capacity of 30 students. It offers diploma program and has been focusing on good quality teaching along with integrated laboratory experiments. The course has been attracting good students from inception and is becoming increasingly popular. Department has well- developed infrastructure and well equipped laboratories like Automobile engine laboratory, Automobile Machine-Shop, Automobile Electrical system laboratory & Automobile Workshop. With the help of multimedia, interactive sessions, industrial visits, expert lecturers, teaching- learning process is enhanced at department. Passed-out students from this department are most eligible candidates to be placed in various Govt. sectors like Motor Vehicle Inspector(MVI), DRDO, Indian Railways, Indian Airforce, Ordinance Factory,Technician post in Indian Army, Public sectors like SAIL,MCL and Private Sectors like Maruti Suzuki ,TATA Motors ,Bajaj Motors , L&T etc.

Vision

Develop competent Automobile Engineers to cater to the industry and entrepreneurial needs.

Mission

M1:   Impart quality technical education through competent faculty members and effective learning process leading to excellence in the field of Automobile Engineering.

M2:   Sustain linkages with industries and alumni for the growth and development of department to improve the capability of student.

M3:   Inculcate Ethical & Moral values, Interpersonal Skills, Leadership and Entrepreneurial qualities amongst students through curricular, co curricular & extracurricular intervention.

Program Outcomes

Empowering Innovators for Sustainable Solutions and Career Advancement through Lifelong Learning.

PO1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

Program Educational Objectives

The objectives of an automobile program can include:

Learning about vehicles: Students learn about the functions of vehicles and other automotive equipment, and gain a foundation in automotive engineering principles.

Hands-on experience: Students gain experience working with different types of automobiles, such as cars, trucks, and motorbikes.

Developing skills: Students develop the skills to diagnose unit malfunctions and perform vehicle service and repair.

Staying current: Students learn about the latest trends and practices in the automotive sector, and stay current with developing technology.

Understanding automobile systems: Students become familiar with automobile systems, including electrical systems.

Analyzing performance: Students learn how to analyze performance.

Safety awareness: Students become aware of safety.

Emerging trends awareness: Students become aware of emerging trends, such as electric vehicles.
