About the Institute
The Institution was started by State Govt. of Odisha under the department of Employment & Technical Education & Training in the year 2013. It is located at Laltikra, Bolangir, the district head quarter town on Bolangir – Patnagarh road (S.H. – 42) 3.5 Kms. from Collectorate, Bolangir. It is 128 Kms. from Sambalpur on N.H. 224 & S.H.-15, 267 Kms. from Raipur on N.H.-59, 38 Kms. from Patnagarh on S.H.-42, 50 Kms. from Sonepur on N.H. 224, 312 Kms. from Bhubaneswar on N.H. 224. It is well connected by train & bus.

Civil Engineering is concerned with the improvement in quality of basic needs of human civilization and look after the naturally and eugenically built environments with their planning, designing, construction, operation and maintenance. The Civil Engineering Department at Government Polytechnic Bolangir started functioning since 2013 with intake capacity of 60 students. It aims to provide students for developing solutions of major sustainability challenges of our society. The dept. offers strong foundation in the morals and applications of Civil Engineering, with the assistance of qualified & experienced faculties.qualified & experienced faculties.
Electrical Engineering Department is one of the core department of the institution which started functioning in the year 2013(Establishment year) with intake capacity of 60 students. It offers diploma program and has been focusing on good quality teaching along with integrated laboratory experiments. It also aims to provide the students with a study, design and application of equipment, devices and systems which use electricity that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs.
Automobile Engineering Department is one of the core department of the institution which started functioning in the year 2013(Establishment year) with intake capacity of 30 students. It offers diploma program and has been focusing on good quality teaching along with integrated laboratory experiments. The course has been attracting good students from inception and is becoming increasingly popular.
Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the core department of the institution which started functioning in the year 2013(Establishment year) with intake capacity of 60 students. It offers diploma program and has been focusing on good quality teaching along with integrated laboratory experiments. It also aims to provide the students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiments that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs.
Computer Science & Engineering Department was started in our institute considering the rapid computerization in every aspect of life in the year 2023 with the intake capacity of 30 students. It started with the vision that the course will ingrain in the students a professional approach through theoretical knowledge, project work and practical training facilitating to meet the demand of trained manpower in both software and hardware sector. After the completion of the program successfully the trained diploma graduate will be hired and placed in various companies and some of them may have go for their higher studies under lateral entry after which they get better opportunities in various MNC companies.
Mathematics & Science Department came into existence since 2013. This Department comprises Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Computer Science. It takes care of foundation courses in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It also imparts training in Communication skills, basic Computer knowledge, personality development and group discussion. Each Section has its own lab setup and uses its own lab manual. As it is regarded that Mathematics is the language of Physics and Engineering, so the role of the Department is no less than any mainstream Engineering Department.
